What do I need to do to study at EET?
Choose a course first, and then fill the enrolment form (which you can find it on our website www.eet.edu.au). You will have to provide the following documents by the time you do your enrolment:
Once all your paperwork is been approved you will received your Letter of Offer and your COE (Certificate of Enrolment); then you can start applying for your student visa. You can get an Education Agent/Agency that will help you go through all the process.
Where is EET located?
EET is in 2 locations, the heart of Surfers Paradise and Southport on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. The Gold Coast is Australia’s premier tourist destination with Surfers Paradise’s and Southport being the main attraction supporting a vibrant day & night entertainment, dining and shopping experience.
Do all students get free internet access on campus?
EET provides fast internet access for students for free. You can access fast internet from your mobile phone, your tablet and or your computer.
Do all students get access to computers on campus?
EET has over 30 computers on campus for students to access. There are a couple of computer labs including some in the classrooms.

What courses are offered at EET?
EET offers a full range of ELICOS, VET (Vocational Education and Training) courses and Skills courses (Short Courses). Please click on the link to see all the courses. (www.eet.edu.au/courses)
When can I join courses?
At EET you can join our courses anytime. We have a rolling starts system that enables students to start in any week of the year.
What is an ELICOS course?
ELICOS stands for ‘English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas students’. ELICOS programs have been designed for students who require English language training before commencing formal studies in Australia. The Australian government has an official ELICOS student visa especially for students who do one of these courses.
The programs are open to everyone, including people who are in Australia on a tourist or visitor visa.
What is a VET course?
VET stands for ‘Vocational Education and Training’; is education and training that focuses on providing skills for work.

What days and time are these courses?
All the courses have a different timetable. Please refer to our helpful sales staff for more information or contact reception at EET.
Do I get a full qualification and a certificate when I finish my course?
If you pass all the subjects required in a course, then yes you do. All our courses are approved and certified by the Australian Government so your qualification will be recognised anywhere in Australia.
What attendance do I need to pass my course?
All courses have different requirements; please contact our helpful sales staff to receive more information.
Once I finish my course, can I use my qualification to go to university?
We do have partnerships with some universities and we offer pathways through selected courses.
How many universities will recognize my qualification to study there?
Currently, EIP has partnerships with three (3) major Australian universities (Griffith, Southern Cross and Charles Sturt) and we keep working to partner with new ones.
Does the school provides students counsellors?
At EET we have multi lingual academic and support counsellors. So if you come across any type of problem EET will is able to assist and guide you to the most suitable outcome.
Can I get extra support if I find my course difficult?
Yes, our trainers will provide the required support or strategy to assist students whom are having difficulty with their courses.
Do I get discounts or deals with my student card?
Like in most places, students are able to claim discounts or deals with their student card. The Gold Coast is a city full of activities and most of these will have discount for students.
Does EET organise extracurricular activities for students?
Yes, we organise excursion days or some fun activities to do on a regular basis. This way the students are able to mix and meet each other and also get to see some beautiful parts of our city.
Can I enrol in more than one course?
You can enrol in one or more courses at the same time.
Do I get discount if I enrol more than one course?
Yes, you will get a discounted enrolment fee for enrolling in more than one course.
How much is the enrolment fee?
The enrolment fee for any course at EET is currently AUD$270.
What happens for Orientation at the college?
Before your enrolment begins, you will be emailed with a link to EET’s online orientation presentation. You must log in and complete all sections of the online orientation before you can access your course resources and begin your course. The orientation provides important details about your course requirements, school processes, facilities and support. You will also need to complete some paperwork. Part of this paperwork will involve your application for a USI (Unique Student Identifier) as issued by the Australian Government electronically.
What are the fees of the courses you offer?
All our courses costs are different. It depends on the amount of weeks, material and type of course you will choose. Please contact sales at EET.
How much and when do I pay for the course?
You will have to pay a course tuition instalment with your application fee and a further instalment prior to commencing your course if you elect a payment plan. Alternatively, you can pay your course tuition fee in full; in which we offer a discount.
Do you offer payment plans/instalments?
Yes we do. You can have a chat with our helpful Sales Team and they will assist your requirements accordingly.
Is there public transport close by?
EET is located in 2 locations where the tram (called “G:Link”) has numerous stations and stops located near the college. The trains run every 7 minutes on weekdays and every 10 minutes during the weekend. Local bus services are also a very convenient way to travel to the college with bus stops within easy walking distance.
Do I get transport concession with my student ID card?
Students who enrol VET courses do get a concession in their fares on public transport. ELICOS students do not as the course is not listed for concessions.
How do I apply for my concession?
Once you get your student card, you can apply on the Department of Transport and Main Roads Queensland website (www.translink.com.au) for your concession. It is very easy and EET can assist you if required.
Can I drive my own car to school?
While the college does not have onsite car parking, there are several car parking facilities in easy walking (200 meters) distance to the college that have rates for either hourly, daily, weekly or monthly options.
How can I find accommodation close to EET?
There are plenty of websites where you can find rooms for rent, especially in Surfers Paradise. Students usually prefer to share accommodation with more people, such as rent a room in a house, apartment, unit, or ‘Home stay’ which is when you stay with a host family.
What kind of visa do I need to apply for a course?
If you intend to study for more than 3 months, then you must have a valid student visa. As an overseas student you must be enrolled in a full-time course (at least 20 hours per week). If you wish to study less than 3 months you can study on a valid tourist visa.

How do I apply for an Australian student visa?
This apply if you are onshore and offshore.
After enrolling in a course and get your COE (Certificate of Enrolment):
Always check with your Agent/Agency regarding your personal circumstances in applying for a visa, as every case is different.
How much is the cost of the student visa?
The current fees in order to apply for a Student Visa (Subclass 500) are set to AUD $575 .
The price is always the same no matter the length of your studies.
Can I study with a Working Holiday visa?
Yes, you can study with a Working Holiday visa but your course must not exceed 17 weeks.
Do I need an insurance to study?
It is compulsory for all overseas students to have a health insurance to obtain the visa. You have to be insured for the whole period of your stay in Australia. OSHC (Overseas Student Health Cover) is a health insurance that covers basic medical treatment, emergency transport and includes visits to the Doctors (General Practitioners (GP’s)). In some cases, you will be able to claim some of the money and get it refund.
Do I get permission to work with my Student Visa?
Your student visa has a work permit included, so you don’t need to worry about applying for one.
What is a Tax File Number (TFN)? and why do I need one?
If you intend working in paid employment, you need to have a TFN, because your employer is required to deduct income tax from your wages. If you do not have a TFN, you may pay more tax than necessary, or not be able to get government benefits you are entitled to receive.

How do I get a bank account/card?
Australian banks are required to ask you for proof of identity (ID) before opening a bank account. You will need to provide sufficient information and identification to satisfy a 100 point ID check:

How many hours I can work as a student?
Overseas students can work up to 20 hours a week or 40 hours every fortnight. However if you are on a holiday break from school you can work full time.
What kind of job can I get as a student?
Overseas students mostly work in the hospitality industry, cleaning and construction. However, it all depends on your English level and experiences.
Can I travel overseas with my Student Visa?
Yes, you can. If you intend to leave Australian then there are conditions regarding certain requirements of your visa, but you can do it during school holidays or courses breaks.
Can I ride a bike on the Gold Coast?
Yes, you can. We pride ourselves in having very safe roads and conditions for bike riders. It is mandatory to wear a helmet though and to have good lights if you are riding at night time.
Can I bring and use my phone to Australia with me?
Yes, you can. Just make sure your phone is unlocked and you’ll have no problems in setting it up here with an Australian sim card.
What kind of food you eat in Australia?
In Surfers Paradise being a tourist hub, there is a vast range of mixed ethnic food shops and restaurants. As a multicultural country, you will find lots of places that serve a diverse range of Asian, European and South American assorted cuisines.
Can I bring my own food to school?
Yes, you can. EET has microwaves and fridges on every floor of our college campus. We also have a common area where students meet and have their food together.
If I have a driver’s licence from my own country, can I drive with it in Australia?
Driving in Australia requires you to have an International Driver’s License from your home country, or you will need a current and valid driver’s licence from your home country (along with a certified translation of it). You need these documents in their physical carded form, not as an electronic copy on your mobile phone or computer. If you don’t have either of those things, don’t give up. Consider applying for a driver’s license in Australia. (www.tmr.qld.gov.au)
If I would like to buy a car, what should I consider?
Before you buy a car, you should consider the costs involved. Not only will you need to pay for the car itself, but you will also need to pay for registration and insurance, petrol, servicing, repairs and use of tollways.
